Nathaly Basto

DEVELOPMENT & APPLICATION COACH
COLLEGE MATCH

Nathaly’s passion for education and college counseling began in high school, where she advised low-income students on financial aid and scholarships for college through an independent service project. She graduated as an Orange County Top Graduate and attended Yale University, where she combined Education and Cognitive Science, exploring how brain development informs the most effective educational practices.
Nathaly has taught English in Israel and Shanghai, studied in Italy, and attended a study abroad program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She worked as a college counselor and test prep tutor in Mexico City then continued working in college counseling and essay coaching, before stepping into a new role as a director of a small educational nonprofit focused on increasing educational equity in the Bay Area.
Nathaly strives to make the college admissions process both reflective and enjoyable, helping her students find the college that's the best fit for them and guiding them to discover their unique voice in essays. In her free time, Nathaly loves to read, travel, and go hiking with her dog.
